AirAsia X to fly passengers body to Indonesia tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR: The body of a passenger who died on the AirAsia X flight D7 171 from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur last Friday night will be flown home to Surabaya, Indonesia tomorrow.
AirAsia X Berhad, in a statement here today, said the airline was making the preparations with his family members and the authorities.

“AirAsia X once again conveys its deepest condolences to his family,” it said.

The Health Ministry today confirmed that the 64-year-old pilgrim had died of a heart attack and not due to the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV).

The man was reported to have sought treatment for fever, cough and respiratory problems at a clinic during his pilgrimage in the Holy Land.
