Woman forced to sit in her own urine on 7-hour Air Canada flight

A Dublin woman returning home on an Air Canada flight from Bogota says she was “completely humiliated” and “disgusted” after the cabin crew refused to let her use the washroom, forcing her to sit in her own urine for the duration of the seven-hour flight, Dublin Live reports.

The 26-year-old woman claims she repeatedly told the crew the severity of her situation.

“I asked four times over a two-hour period if I could use the toilet and told a cabin crew member that it was an emergency and I was going to have an accident if they didn’t let me use the toilet,” she told the news agency.

But the crew reportedly refused to let her use the washroom, despite a two-hour delay on the first stretch of the flight from Bogota to Toronto.

The woman said at one point she got up and started to make her way to the bathroom but was confronted by an aggressive flight attendant.

“That’s when the crew member named John screamed into my face ‘get back into your seat now ma’am,’” she told Dublin Live. “I was completely humiliated and visibly upset the cabin crew ignored me for the rest of the flight.”

Not being able to hold it in any longer, the woman peed her seat and had to sit in the urine for the rest of the flight.

After the flight, she looked for the crew who denied her access to the toilet to shame them “but they had cowardly hid at the back of the plane.”

To add insult to injury, when the flight finally landed in Toronto the woman had to book and pay for a hotel room so she could clean herself up.

She told Dublin Live that after she complained to the airline, she received a $500 voucher in compensation but since it can only be used with Air Canada and not its partners she “will never use it.”

An Air Canada spokesperson told the Toronto Sun: “We deal with our customers directly, and we have been in touch with this customer.“
